Do not skip meals. People think if I skip a meal, my calorie intake for the day will be less. Starving yourself, or going all day without eating doesn't work. It causes the metabolism to slow down tremendously, and the body will begin storing fat when you do eat, as it doesn’t know when it will get food again.
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Have something light, and healthy. Yogurt is great, or a protein shake, or bar. This ensures your metabolism gets kicked off for the day.

Sleep can affect your weight loss! You want to strive for 8hrs, but a lot of us don't get the sleep our bodies need. Try to get at least 6 hours of sleep each night. If you get less than 6 hrs, this can lower your metabolism.
Avoid alcohol! It is full of calories, and can prevent you from losing weight, because your body burns those calories before your food calories.
Read the nutritional information on your food. Remember, fat-free does not mean calorie-free. Focus on your proteins, and your “good” carbs.
Do not eat in front of the computer or TV. This keeps you from enjoying your food, and from knowing when your body is telling you it is satisfied.
Don’t weigh everyday. Weigh once a week, on the same day, and in the morning.
Everyone has his or her favorite treats. Allow yourself a little indulgence once a week, but watch out for the frequency and the portion size. Having a small treat can be rewarding to your weight loss experience. Completely eliminating everything usually leads to an early relapse.
